Technology and Other Expectations
Bring Your Own Technology
Some of the 5th grade classrooms will take part in BYOT classroom. For every class that utilizes this program, forms must be signed by parents giving consent. Students will need to be responsible for their devices and devices CANNOT be brought to classrooms that do not participate in the program (unless for storage only in a child's homeroom). A list of suggested apps will be provided in the paperwork for this program. It is also suggested that parents provide firm, heavy-duty cases on devices as they will be dropped throughout the course of the year. Students who abuse the policy by playing games not specified by the teacher, using devices during instructional time, or generally being off-task due to their device will receive a TECHNOLOGY ABUSE form. Students who receive more than 3 of these forms will no longer be allowed to bring devices to school. |
Other Expectations
Be Prepared Students must be prepared for class and have all of the following items each day: 1. Agenda 2. Assigned work 3. Signed paperwork that is due 4. Lunch or lunch money 5. All necessary other school supplies It is expected that students will travel with their Agendas each day to class and write down all assignments. In addition, parents will be asked not to come back to school to drop off items such as late work, lunches, or even backpacks. Students will also not be permitted to go back to their homeroom once classes have begun. It is very important that students get organized and stay organized so that they can be well prepared throughout the year. |
